Dhyana
“When Siddhartha listened attentively to this river, to this song of a thousand voices;
when he did not listen to the sorrow or the laughter,
when he did not bind his soul to any one particular voice and absorb it in his Self,
but heard them all, the whole, the unity;
then the great song of a thousand voices consisted of one word: Om – perfection.”
Dhyana is a prayer, and prayer is the expansion of self into Living Cosmos.
With Dhyana, the seventh limb of Patanjali’s eightfold path, attention and sensitivity become so deep an experience that the meditator becomes one with the object of meditation. In other words the meditator is no longer conscious that she is meditating.
In this state of grace all notions of separateness disappear.
The experience of oneness is made.
This changes everything – awakening happens.
One is drawn to rest more and more deeply in all that is. The ego becomes increasingly transparent.
We move into a vehicle state.
Embodying and integrating this shift of perception. Surrendering to the flow of consciousness.
Dhyana is the prelude to Samadhi.
